Environmental
Care for the environment
Every mandate the firm accepts is examined against exacting environmental criteria. Large infrastructure carries serious environmental responsibilities, and we work with our partners to ensure that the way a programme is financed rewards responsible development.
Our environmental framework covers biodiversity, the assessment of carbon emissions and the use of green infrastructure wherever it is practical and affordable. We work to environmental and social performance standards that are recognised internationally.
Social
Social value and inclusive growth
The investments that endure are those that create real economic and social value for the communities they serve. The assessment of social impact is part of how we accept and structure a mandate.
Our programmes are designed to make the most of local employment, the transfer of skills and the participation of local suppliers. We work with our government partners to write those requirements into the financing, so that international capital creates value where people live.

Governance and transparency
The firm holds itself to high standards of corporate governance and expects the same of its partners. Our advice and our structures follow governance practice of international standing, including the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
We are open about how we work and about the structures we design, and we support the development of sound regulation and institutional capacity in the countries we serve.

A strict rule against corruption
The firm does not tolerate bribery or corruption in any of the jurisdictions in which it works, and it complies with the anti-bribery legislation that applies to it. Respect for human rights, for the rule of law and for the people affected by the programmes we structure is a condition of every engagement we accept and of every partner we work with.
