Jafar Hilali and Marius Esposito, representing Carousel Finance, met today with H.E. Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, UAE Ambassador to France, to reinforce the growing strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the heart of this discussion was the Kinshasa Kia Mona project, a large-scale urban expansion initiative designed to transform Kinshasa into a modern and dynamic economic hub.
Carousel Finance, operating under an official mandate from the CSSPEVK (Comité Supérieur de Supervision du Projet d’Extension de la Ville de Kinshasa) and led by Thierry Katembwe Mbala, is driving the financial structuring and investor engagement necessary to deliver this ambitious project. The meeting in Paris underscored the UAE’s strong interest in infrastructure development and urban planning, with a shared vision of channeling sustainable and large-scale investments into Africa.
With Kinshasa projected to be one of Africa’s fastest-growing capitals, this partnership presents a unique opportunity to align UAE expertise and capital with the DRC’s urban expansion goals. Discussions will continue in the coming weeks to solidify investment commitments and accelerate the project’s implementation, paving the way for a transformational leap in Kinshasa’s urban and economic landscape.
