Carousel Finance discusses urban modernization and special economic zones with H.E. Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi

Carousel Finance held a strategic meeting in Kinshasa with His Excellency Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, Minister of State, Minister of Urban Planning and Housing of the Democratic Republic of Congo, as part of its ongoing work to support large-scale urban transformation initiatives across the country.

The meeting brought together Carousel Finance and its international partners, including representatives of KBR, HRM and UXC, to discuss new approaches to urban development, infrastructure planning and the structuring of Special Economic Zones within priority territories of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Discussions focused on the need to develop integrated urban models capable of combining residential areas, infrastructure networks, logistics platforms, energy systems, public facilities and economic activity zones within coherent territorial frameworks. This approach is directly aligned with the long-term vision promoted through the Kinshasa Kia Mona project, which aims to create a modern, structured and economically dynamic extension of the capital.

Beyond Kinshasa, the discussions also covered the potential structuring of urban development initiatives in key Congolese cities such as Kisangani, Kolwezi and Goma. These cities represent strategic territories for the country’s economic diversification, industrial development and regional integration.

Carousel Finance presented a framework based on the establishment of dedicated project committees, the integration of Special Economic Zones, and the appointment of coordinators under government oversight. This model is designed to ensure institutional clarity, improve technical execution and provide investors with a structured environment for long-term engagement.

The meeting confirmed the importance of aligning urban planning with investment structuring, land organization, infrastructure delivery and local economic development. It also highlighted the need for strong coordination between public authorities, technical partners and financial institutions in order to transform urban projects into bankable and operational programs.

Carousel Finance remains committed to supporting the Democratic Republic of Congo in the development of modern, sustainable and economically productive cities. Through its role as a strategic and financial structuring platform, Carousel Finance continues to work with Congolese authorities and international partners to build practical pathways for infrastructure delivery, urban modernization and investment mobilization.
