MEDEF International and Carousel Finance to host a high-level working meeting in Paris on the Kinshasa Kia Mona urban extension project

On Tuesday 24 February 2026 (10:00–12:00), MEDEF International, in coordination with Carousel Finance, will convene in Paris a dedicated working meeting focused on the Kinshasa Kia Mona urban extension project. The session will bring together French companies and European partners alongside the Congolese authorities, notably H.E. Mr. Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, Minister of State, Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, and Mr. Thierry Katembwe Mbala, Main Coordinator of the Strategic Committee for the Supervision of the Kinshasa Urban Extension Project.

This session marks an important milestone: the structuring of a coordinated “Team France” consortium to engage in a disciplined and complementary manner on a 2,500-hectare development component at the heart of the new Kinshasa. In parallel, Carousel Finance is structuring an approximately USD 3 billion financing package to support the execution pathway and translate stakeholder engagement into deliverable workstreams.

Beyond infrastructure, the initiative reflects a broader ambition: building an integrated urban and economic ecosystem designed to host hundreds of thousands of residents, accelerate job creation, and provide a concrete framework for skills transfer, long-term investment, and diaspora engagement—within a project carried at the highest institutional level in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The working session will take place in the presence of the Congolese authorities, notably:
H.E. Mr. Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, Minister of State, Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, and
Mr. Thierry Katembwe Mbala, Main Coordinator of the CSSPEVK.
