Working Breakfast – Kinshasa Kia Mona

On behalf of His Excellency Ndolamb Ngokwey, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United Kingdom, you are invited to attend a Strategic Working  Meeting focused on the ‘Kinshasa Kia Mona’ Project to be held in London on the 31st March 2025.   

Carousel Finance is delighted to be organising this event.  As officially mandated by thethe Kinshasa City Expansion Project Strategic Oversight Committee – for the financial and technical aspects of Kia Mona, this  meeting provides the opportunity to present and to engage in meaningful dialogue and partnerships. 

The Kinshasa Kia Mona project is an urban and economic transformation initiative, with a planned budget of over 50 billion USD, designated as a priority by the Congolese government to develop a modern, integrated metropolis in Kinshasa. 43,000 hectares has been allocated to this project which aims to accommodate 5 million residents while fostering industrialisation, infrastructure expansion, and strategic economic development.

This initiative is led by the CSSPEVK, a governmental body responsible for the oversight and execution of the project. We are delighted that the Principal Coordinator of the CSSPEVK, Mr. Thierry Katembwe, will be present at this meeting to provide a detailed overview of the project’s implementation, including infrastructure development, urban planning, road networks, clean energy distribution, agricultural development, industrial and economic zones designed to promote value-added production and local transformation of resources, as well as investment structuring leveraging the DRC’s critical minerals—cobalt, lithium, germanium, and copper—as financial guarantees to secure long-term funding.

The meeting will bring together key government officials, institutional investors, and corporate leaders, offering a unique opportunity to explore strategic partnerships in infrastructure, finance, energy, and industrial development.

Additionally, this event serves as a preparatory session for the Kinshasa Kia Mona Economic London Forum taking place on April  28 – 29, 2025, where further discussions and potential MoU signings will take place between companies and project stakeholders.
